November TBR

November TBR

Happy Monday guys! I can’t believe we’re in November already! This year has flew in. I’m so happy to have this week off after working really long hours at the World Championship Gymnastics last week so I’ll have slightly more time to read. Although I’m not working this week, I have a very busy schedule as my work’s first birthday night out is tomorrow and then from Wednesday until Saturday I’ll be seeing Twenty One Pilots and The Red Paintings twice both in Glasgow and Manchester so I’m really looking forward to that!

Reading wise, this month I was planning on going to the library and getting books out to read but I have about 8 books that I’ve received waiting to be read and reviewed so that is what the month of November will be focused on for me.

Just now I am currently reading Am I Normal Yet? by Holly Bourne and I’m absolutely loving it. I’ll be posting a review of it in the next few days so keep an eye out for that!

Here is my tbr for November:

  • The Other Son – Alexander Soderberg
  • Imposter – Chanda Stafford
  • Black Creek – Gregory Lamberson
  • The Improbable Wonders of Moojie Littleman – Robin Gregory
  • The Mine – John A Heldt
  • Demon Road – Derek Landy
  • Chained – Susanne Valenti

So, there we have it, my November tbr!

What are you guys planning on reading this month?

September TBR

September TBR

So this month I’m reading two series’. The Maze Runner and The Twilight Saga. I originally wanted to read TMR series again before I go and see The Scorch Trials next week so I’m really excited to get back in to it! This month I also decided to start using my TBR jar so I got my sister to pick books out for me. The first thing she picked out was the Twilight Saga so I decided to stop her from picking any more out as both series make a total of eight books. If I manage to finish them before the month ends then I’ll get her to pick again for me.

My twilight books annoy me because I have Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse in the normal edition but Breaking Dawn in the white/red special edition. I’m determined to own all the books in both editions but I need money for that first, sigh.

September TBR. This month in reading two series. I originally planned to read The Maze Runner Series again because I want to read it before I see The Scorch Trials so I'm excited about that! Then for this month I decided to start my TBR jar and I got my sister to pick something from it. The first thing she picked was the Twilight series so I decided to just have these two for now since it's a total of 7 books. If I manage to finish them all before the end of the month then I'll select another out of it! I really want to get the normal edition of Breaking Dawn and I want to get the rest of the series in the White/red special edition. I just need money sigh. I also posted a review of Are You Still There on my blog so please do check that out! You can click the link in my bio to see it :) What books are you guys reading this month? ☺️ #books #bookstagram #instabooks #themazerunner #tmr #twilight #twilightsaga #edwardcullen #bellaswan #jacob #thomas #newt #thescorchtrials #jamesdashner #stephaniemeyer #bibliophile #bookworm #booklover #bookish #bookthings

July TBR

July TBR

Happy Friday guys! I finally have time to post my TBR list for July. I’m hoping this month is much better than last as I had such a bad reading month in June. I’m going on holiday soon too so that means I can just chill at the pool and beach and have more reading time too. I was given a few books last month in exchange for a review so this month will be spent reading them and I’ll finally have more reviews up too! So here we go with the list!

The 5th Wave – Rick Yancey

Synopsis/Buy Book – Book Depository

This was on my TBR last month but unfortunately I didn’t get to read it. I started it the other day and I’m about halfway through and I’m already in love with it! The storyline is so good and I love the characters! I’m really looking forward to finishing it.

The Infinite Sea – Rick Yancey

Synopsis/Buy Book – Book Depository

Again, this was on my list last month so I’m looking forward to reading it after The 5th Wave. Hopefully it’s just as good!

Soulmates – Nicole Dykes

Synopsis – Goodreads

This is the first book in the Soulmates series and Nicole was lovely enough to give me the full series in exchange of an honest review! I’m looking forward to reading it. The other books in the series are called Fate and Rebound!

First – Chanda Stafford

Synopsis/Buy book – Book Depository

Again, I was given this book in exchange of an honest review and I’m really looking forward to it!

The Blackmail Of Evelynn Faust – Shirley Anne Edwards

Synopsis/Buy book – Book Depository

I requested this book on Reading Alley and was thrilled to find it had been accepted so again, this is a book I will review once I’ve read it and I can’t wait!

So there we have it. A total of 7 books! Here’s hoping I can get them all read this month!

Have you guys read any of these books? What did you think and what books are on your TBR list this month?

Death Wish

Death Wish

Title: Death Wish                                                                                                                     Author: Megan Tayte

Genre: Young Adult Fantasy

Rating: 3/5

Synopsis: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/24873066-death-wish

Review: I was given a digital copy of this book in return of an honest interview. I had to start this book four times as I found it so hard to get into but once I did eventually get into it I started to enjoy it. Death Wish is the first book in the Ceruleans series and is a good read however I didn’t completely fall in love with it. The characters were likeable but they also had their moments. My favourite character would probably be Cara as she was funny, caring, brave and she had an amazing friendship with the main character Scarlett which made me slightly jealous that I don’t have a friend like her in my life. However, Scarlett is a strong character herself as she is dealing with the loss of her sister and constantly has to deal with her hysterical mother and distant father. Tayte writing about the friendship between Scarlett and Bert are extremely heart-warming and it’s almost like a grandad/granddaughter relationship between them both. Then we get onto the scenes between Scarlett and Luke. Their relationship is sweet and it’s obvious they care so much about each other. Luke is another very strong character and you can’t help but feel sorry for him throughout the novel as he has been through so much in his life and he always goes out of his way to help and protect others.

One thing I disliked this book was Jude. Jude, for me seemed like a pointless character. He didn’t really serve a purpose and was only in the story every so often. His part goes along with the supernatural side of the story so I’m guessing he will be a bigger character in the next books but in Death Wish the supernatural side to the story was only mentioned briefly and it was not clear that this was the direction Tayte wanted to go until the end of the book and I feel that is what let this book down.

Overall, although Death Wish has a slow beginning it did have a strong ending and I will read the next book as I’m intrigued to find out more about Scarlett and her supernatural abilities and I need my questions answered. If you’re interested in books with romance then I highly recommend this but if you’re more interested in the Supernatural/Paranormal genre then I wouldn’t advise this as, as I said before, we don’t get given much information on the supernatural side in this book.

Hey guys! So we’re officially half way through 2015 and it’s been a great year for me so far. I started a new job that I absolutely love and I’ve discovered so many new books! I’m still trying to decide what I want to read this month as there’s so many books I have the I keep debating over. In April and May I started the month off reading an ebook and then carrying on reading books the rest of the month so I’m thinking of doing the same but just have to decide what book to start off with.

May was a bad reading month for me as I didn’t get to read as much as I wanted so I only read around 3 books. In the next week or so I shall be posting reviews about them so I hope you enjoy reading them! What did you guys read last week and do you have any recommendations of books I should read this month? 🙂

I hope you all have a fab month and I look forward to seeing what you’re all reading!
