Book Box Club – March 2019 Unboxing

Happy Wednesday my lovelies! I hope you’re all having a fab week so far. Today I’m back with an unboxing, something that I’m aiming to include every month from now on, on my blog so I can hopefully introduce you to some fantastic bookish content and companies!

As you can see from the title, today’s post will be an unboxing of this month’s Book Box Club box. Book Box Club is a monthly subscription box based in the UK and was started up by two lovely ladies; Kate and Libby. Each month, the box includes a recently released YA novel and always includes bookish goodies based around the months theme as well. Subscriptions start at £28.99 and they also offer a Purely Books subscription service as well if you were just interested in the book but didn’t want the bookish related items. If you’re interested in seeing what they have to offer then you can check out their website here.

I decided to subscribe to Book Box Club around November 2018 and have been receiving them every month since. This month’s theme was ‘DREAM TEAMS’ and included items inspired by The Raven Cycle, Six Of Crows and the Shadowhunters! Included this month, we had;

  • Parabatai Oath Candle by Lacuna Candle Co.
  • 221B Bath Bar by Ascent Bath & Beauty
  • Raven Boys Cushion Cover with artwork by Little Paisley Designs
  • Unashamedly Bookish Keyring by Book Box Club
  • The Dregs Print by I Can Draw Things
  • Stolen Time by Danielle Rollins

I must admit this month’s box wasn’t my favourite box, simply because I’ve never read The Raven Cycle or Six Of Crows so I wasn’t able to get excited over the items for these. I’m also not a fan of the cushion cover because for me the material is just a bit too harsh compared to what I’d normally have. As for the positives, I absolutely adore the keyring we received as well as the Parabatai Oath candle. I’m a huge fan of the Shadowhunter Chronicles and so this was a very welcome item for my candle collection. The smell isn’t obvious as well which I adoooooore! It’s just subtle and I love it so much. I hadn’t heard of the book until I read it so I’m looking forward to getting round to it eventually and hopefully I’ll enjoy it.

Book Box Club are such a lovely small company and Kate & Libby are constantly interacting with their customers which is one of the things I love about them. Each month they hold a book club online with the featured author of the previous month’s book and it’s great fun being able to ask the author any questions you may have as well as getting to know more people in the bookish community. This is one of the many reasons I recommend Book Box Club to you if you’re looking for an affordable bookish subscription box and like I said they offer a book only subscription which is great because I feel like there’s not a lot of subscription boxes who do this.

April’s theme is ‘BOLD & BRAVE’ and will include items inspired Harry Potter, Game Of Thrones, Throne Of Glass and more! As for the featured read, the description taken from their Instagram is;

Our featured read is set in a richly described ancient China, and follows a young soldier who is hell-bent on vanquishing the enemy and finding the inner courage to out the truth. If you’re a fan of Renée Ahdieh, Laini Taylor and Sabaa Tahir, you’re going to adore this age-old legend with all its magic, sword fights, forbidden romance and hidden identities. This book will not be featuring in any other book box (so don’t worry about awkward double ups!).”

You can see more about the April box and sign up for it here.

Disclaimer: I buy these boxes myself, I don’t receive anything from Book Box Club in exchange of a review.
